ATHLEISURE BRANDS IN MASSIVE GROWTH - CHECK TOP 20 MOST FOLLOWED

in beginning of January 2019. I read an interesting article in New York Post by Lisa Fickenscher that athleisure brands are losing stamina in the fashion world. I partly disagree, and I still see a massive growth in the athleisure market as defined as styles of clothing worn as athletic apparel and at the same also suitable for casual, everyday wear.

Yes, I expect that traditional fashion brands will be challenged in the future, since they are up against hundreds of new functional and often pure online driven athleisure brands, who are experts in the athleisure market and the new younger generations. These brands have built their collection on much more performance driven material, and styles have more technical details than we normally see at athleisure brands from the fashion collections.

The table shows that athleisure brands have massive growth in the number of followers on Instagram - eg Gymshark with 2,7 mio followers compared with 1.6 followers in 2018

The SoMe athleisure analysis 2019 prepared by LTP now includes 377 athleisure brands, and to join the list, brands must have a separate instagram profile for their athleisure collection.  As usual, the majority of the athleisure brands comes from USA, UK, Australia, Germany and Canada.
